Historian and physician Kirsten Lylloff figured out "the greatest contemporary humanitarian catastrophe in Denmark" as she reveals that "German children who fled unaccompanied to Denmark as World War II drew to a close in the spring of 1945 were subjected to inhumane treatment." DR

has a greater deal of the reports:
"Kirsten Lylloff, medical doctor and historian, discovered that thousands of German refugees, mostly children, died of hunger and diseases in Danish prison camps in the years following World War II, as Danish authorities and doctors denied them food and medical treatment that would have saved their lives."
