"The suicide bombers is a very late phenomena in the Palestinian struggle for independence." Noam Chomsky "And now what infuriates the United States and Israel is that for the first time they don't have the monopoly of the violence. They still have a preponderance but not a monopoly. That is exactly what infuriated American and European experts."

'sorry' over death

A rabit was running away, the hen asks him what are you running away from? He said that the Lion has ruled to cut any annimal's balls of those who have three balls. Hen says but you have two, don't you? Rabit says yes, but they cut the balls and then count them.
That is how it goes: The Scotland Yard confirmed that the man shot dead "was completely unconnected to Thursday's attempted bombings on three Tube trains and a bus." BBC

Dane detained for bomb threat against mosques

Now I understand why Danes make fun of Århus people: "A 35-year-old Dane was ordered detained for four weeks on Thursday for allegedly threatening to blow up mosques in Denmark and Sweden." DR

Just read about this freaky guy, Steven Levitt who "claims that Bill Clinton's apocalyptic warning of a crime wave in the 90s did not come to fruition because of Roe vs Wade, the landmark Supreme Court ruling of 1973 that legalised abortion in the USA.
He argues that the women most likely to have taken advantage of Roe vs Wade were poor and unmarried, whose kids - if they had been born - would apparently have 'led unhappy and possibly criminal lives'. " BBC
In a nutshell, Freakonomics claims that legalised abortion killed off many future criminals, using data to show that 20 years after Roe vs Wade there was a dip in the crime rates.

Man shot dead by police on Tube

"I saw an Asian guy run onto the train hotly pursued by three plain-clothes police officers. One of them was carrying a black handgun - it looked like an automatic - they pushed him to the floor, bundled on top of him and unloaded five shots into him." " BBC
Former Flying Squad officer, John O'Connor, told BBC News "Officers would be trained to aim for the head as shots to the torso could trigger a hidden explosive device."
However why all four bombs went wrong? DR I mean...

Lax security at Copenhagen airport

"It is too easy to get deadly bombs past airport security systems." DR
The only thing which is not easy to get past at Copenhagen airport is illegal immigrants!

Property market

"How many estate agents have a stake in development firms?" DR
No wonder all prices are raising drastically.

MP to return free motorbike

"Danish Peoples’ Party’s Jørn Dohrmann has decided to return a motorbike worth 160,000 kroner which had been donated to him by Suzuki." DR
I'm sure he wouldn't return it, were it a Danish bike. He is a memner of Dansk Folkeparti and cannot accept foreign bikes, especially Japanese.

B. H. is back on the news

"Former Integration Minister, Bertel Haarder, has come under fire for having participated in the Immigration Service’s controversial annual lottery." DR
I have missed Bertel Haarder. Nice that he is back againg.

Copenhagen prepared for terrorism

I was actually wondering what is being prepared in the case of terrosist attack apart from the few bored cops wandering in couple of stations in Copenhagen and a tape on buses that says talk to the driver if you see smeting strang!
Here it goes "... if there were to be a major terror attack on the Øresund region of Denmark and Sweden, there is no common safety and emergency rescue system in place and there should be, according to HUR, the Greater Copenhagen Authority." DR

Why do the suicide-bombers and hijackers carry their ID, driving license and passport when they are going to attack some target? Are they just so nice to help police to identity them or they deliberately wanna be identified? Or there is no ID at all. Or...??? BBC

Immigration Service gives faster service to big firms

“business partners” who give bottles of wine and other gifts to Immigration Service employees as thanks for speedy handling of their employees’ cases." DR
Oh! Now I understand why it takes so long to look into asylum seekers cases. Since they are mostly Moslim and do not drink wine nor offer any to the Immigration Service employees, so it takes long to have a look at their cases.

Like a pregnant woman
Conceived with Semtex
Giving birth to destruction

A hand with only four fingers left
Hanging over a half arm, cut from elbow,
Of a dismembered body of a little girl

It’s not the sound that frightens me
Neither the smoke nor the collapsing roof
Nor the flames eating the flesh to ashes

My nightmares are buried in the womb of a pregnant woman
Who gives birth to a walking-death:
A pilot,
A suicide-bomber
Or a president…

Teachers fear informant role

  • "teachers are to report children who skip school to the social authorities who may then cut back on the child allowances paid to the parents." DR

It reminds me of one of Brecht's plays-cannot remember which one-where the children were spying their parents for the government.
